Bellyache Bush (Jatropha gossypiifolia)
Flourishing in bright, warm environments, Jatropha gossypiifolia produces striking, deeply lobed foliage that often emerges burgundy or bronze before maturing to a rich green. Characterized by glandular stems and small crimson flower clusters, this plant adds distinctive color and texture to tropical collections. Our starter plants are grown in 4-inch nursery pots. With deep ruby new growth contrasting against mature green foliage, they make an eye-catching tropical specimen.
Light: Requires full sun to bright, filtered light to maintain strong growth and rich foliage color.
Water: Drought tolerant once established. Allow the soil to dry thoroughly between waterings.
Soil: A chunky, well-draining mix that prevents excess moisture retention and root rot.
